Also on Tuesday, there may be some disruption to traffic in Kerikeri.
The steamship Minerva is making a dramatic move to her public restoration site in central
Kerikeri.  With a grant to cover the cost of timber and materials for the first six months
phase, the project is able to "kick into gear".  Members of the Kerikeri Steam Trust are looking
forward to involvement with public display of the restoration process.  Plans for new steam
engines have been approved and construction has begun in Whangarei.

Proposed changes to Parking By-law

The hearing is on Wednesday and we will be speaking in support of our submission opposing the introduction
of reverse angled parking in Homestead Road.  The decision to oppose this was made after consultation with
qualified traffic engineers.

Information Centre

We have applied to the Community Board for funding for signage and volunteer training for the proposed "Blue-I" site situated at Pete's Pioneer Museum.  We now have 17 volunteers willing to man the centre.

The KKDBA is working together with Pete's Charitable Trust to provide a fully functional Information Centre for Kerikeri.  Kerikeri businesses will benefit from this initiative and we are grateful to those people giving their time voluntarily for the business community.

Subcommittees

If you are able to help a little with things such as Christmas decorations and festivities, Tourism initiatives,
Website content, Events planning, etc, please let me know.
Thanks to those who have put their hands up, but more help is sought.

Winter initiatives

If you have any ideas which may encourage people into Kerikeri through the winter please
let us know.
