Kerikeri Business - Helping Business Grow

NEWSLETTER - JUNE 2010 PDF Print E-mail

Dear Members

Further to the recent article in the Chronicle advising that the ring road/by pass linking Butler Rd, Homestead and Clarke Roads will be going ahead by 2013,  according to Council staff no decision has been made.  There needs to be discussion about this issue and its effects on the town amongst Kerikeri businessowners. After the AGM in August, we will be addressing this, and will appreciate your involvement.

Proposed events:

Kerikeri Ladies Day 31st July

Kerikeri Half Marathon Street Party in November

Kerikeri Festival on the Domain late Feb/March

Rugby World Cup -   3 dates planned for Kerikeri to host events in September and October next year.

Tourism Liaison  – Thank you to Daniel Manning who has offered to be our Tourism representative, communicating and liaising between the Association, the Tourism Development Group and  Destination Northland.  We need to increase Kerikeri’s presence in DN’s promotional material and  encourage more active participation from tourism providers to take part in their initiatives.

Proposed parking changes in Homestead Rd

Our submission opposing the reverse angled parking in Homestead Road went well and Council will now  be rethinking parking proposals for Homestead Road.  The Committee would like to thank John McLaren of Haigh Workman for his professional advice and time spent on this issue for the KKDBA.

Radio advertisers:  All members who have advertised with The Radio Network under the “Club” deal entered into by the Association will go into a draw to win a “Club” trip for two people to Samoa, including flights and accommodation at Aggie Grays for four nights in November.  The draw will take place at the AGM.

Our Annual General Meeting  is planned for Tuesday 24th August.   Venue to be confirmed.
